Doechii stays winning big. The self-proclaimed Swamp Princess was honored as Billboard’s Woman of the Year at the 2025 Women in Music event on March 29, and she pulled up in a show-stopping number to commemorate the occasion.

The “Alter Ego” rapper stunned in a sheer high-slit gown from Donna Karan New York’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection and paired it with mixed-metal jewelry, a bohemian chained belt, and strappy Manolo Blahnik sandals.

And, aside from her undeniable face card, the star of the show was her psychedelic-hued vintage Fendi baguette. Doechii wasn’t kidding when she said she was Carrie Bradshaw with a back brace on, because this is definitely a look the beloved Sex and the City character would love.

The hitmaker has made waves since the release of her project, Alligator Bites Never Heal, in 2024. She made history when she became the third woman to win a Grammy for Best Rap Album earlier this year, and she was recently bestowed with the Outstanding Music Artist award at the GLAAD Media Awards. Not to mention, her latest single “Anxiety” just became her first top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

At the ceremony, her friends and collaborators DJ Miss Milan and Jayda Love presented her with the Woman of the Year award. In a powerful speech, Doechii mused, “I cannot believe it was just two years ago I stood on this stage right here and accepted the Billboard Rising Star Award. I had literally performed so hard I danced my shoes off and had to hop up to the mic.” Ofc, she referenced her standout performances of “Persuasive” and “Crazy” from the 2023 ceremony, adding, “And here I am. That moment reflects how I approach my career – always go full out, always go hard and always be fab.”

She continued, praising Billboard for uplifting women in the music and entertainment industries.

“In 2025, lack of inclusion and sexism are, unfortunately, still an issue in this industry,” she said. “Which is why I’m grateful that we have Billboard Women in Music…and while I may be the one front and center who’s rapping, singing, and performing, I’m not doing this alone. There are brilliant, savvy women on my personal and label teams standing alongside me.”

Doechii added, “This is our motherfucking night to rightfully come together to acknowledge each other, support each other and to celebrate. We are the creators, we are the executives, we are the innovators who are just as central to this industry as the men. Clock it.”
